Quarter Second Note – A Change in Plans

Dear friends,

Restrictions related to the pandemic are loosening, but the path back to normal musical activity and other RCCO events is not yet clear. We were hoping that a gradual return to face-to-face meetings was the best way to ease us back to reality. However, in our planning and in discussion with you, the Executive Committee has determined that there is still considerable hesitancy to group meetings during this fourth wave of the pandemic.  As a result, the ‘get together’ for wine and conversation scheduled for this weekend (September 25) has been postponed as has the Organ Crawl proposed for October 23.  We are sorry to disappoint but we feel that safe guarding the health and safety of all involved is important.

Quarter Second Note – Let’s Re-connect – September 25

Dear members and friends of the Windsor Essex RCCO,

It has been almost 2 years since we have gathered in person.  We’ve had several on-line activities in the interim, but have not been able to maintain our 30 + year tradition that in September we meet for an anthem-reading/sharing session followed by a spaghetti or pasta dinner.

Although we are not yet totally out-of-the-woods with regards to the pandemic, many of us are feeling more comfortable meeting in small groups, with other vaccinated people, and even better, when we can be outside.

You are invited to a deck party to enjoy some of the best local wines, to munch on a few light snacks and to have lively conversation on topics of interest to us as organists, choir directors and lovers of ‘all things organ’.

So, please come and enjoy the fun and fellowship on Saturday, September 25 from 4:00 to 6:30 pm at 136 Main Street West, Kingsville.

Kindly RSVP to paul.wharram@gmail.com to text/call 519-980-2034 by September 22.

Looking forward to seeing friends again!

Urgent need for storage

Karen Price has assumed the duties of directing the Windsor Essex Youth Choir. We are all very excited for her and look forward to hearing and seeing her work with the young people in our area.

She has asked for our help in securing storage for the choir’s music as it must be moved from its current location within the next week. I’m not sure how much storage is needed, but Karen may have more information on this. (She suggested about a ‘wall’ full)

Let’s spread this request around to our friends and colleagues and see if we can help her and the youth choir out.

Karen’s number for more information is 416 454 9510.
